Planned Protest: Kano NSCDC Boss Holds Strategic Meeting With Management

Following a strategic meeting with the management, area Commanders, and divisional officers, Commandant Mohammed Lawal Falala of the NSCDC, Kano command has instructed all officers and men of the command responsible for protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as ensuring the security of lives and property, to demonstrate a high level of professionalism during the planned peaceful protest by youths.

Commandant Mohammed Falala delivered a message from the CG during the meeting, cautioning personnel that under no circumstances should any officer mistreat, assault, harass, or harm a peaceful protester. He emphasized the need to always respect the dignity and sanctity of human life and reminded them of the citizens’ constitutional right to stage a peaceful protest. He urged them to behave professionally and civilly when interacting with the public during the demonstration, intervening in a professional manner only if the protest turns violent.

Furthermore, Commandant Falala directed all officers to be present for this crucial national assignment and urged them to work diligently and in collaboration with other security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Police, DSS, etc., for the duration of the protest.

The Corps’ leader in the state also appealed to the youths to abide by the law and maintain peace, advising them not to allow criminals to infiltrate their ranks and cautioning that justice will always catch up with criminal elements.

SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, Civil Defence Public Relations Officer (CDPRO) of the Kano command, however, mentioned that the state Commandant had recently returned from a crucial meeting with the Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi at the national headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
