KEDCO Disconnects Electricity From Kaduna Government House

Kaduna Government House Loses Power Over Unpaid Bills

The Kaduna Government House is now without electricity. The power company, KEDCO, turned off their lights because of a very big unpaid bill. KEDCO says the government owes them N2.9 billion for electricity used over seven months.

KEDCO tried many times to get the money. They talked to government workers and even sent a warning letter. But when nothing worked, they had to make the tough choice to cut the power. They say this was their last option after trying everything else.

The government did pay some money recently, but it wasn’t enough. KEDCO needs this money to keep giving electricity to everyone in Kaduna. Other states nearby, like Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara, pay their bills on time.

This problem shows that even important government buildings need to pay for the electricity they use. It’s just like how regular people have to pay their bills. KEDCO says they didn’t want to turn off the power, but they had no choice after waiting so long.

Now, people are waiting to see what will happen next. Will the government pay its bill soon? When will the Government House get its power back? This situation reminds everyone how important it is to pay for the electricity we use.
