Vanguard reported the incident yesterday as being caused by over-speeding and reckless driving by the deceased.

According to the reports, the woman arrived at a store and saw her husband coming out with a woman she suspected to be his girlfriend.

She then pursued the duo in her own car for a possible confrontation and upon noticing her, the husband reportedly sped off.

After noticing the accident the wife was involved in, the husband dropped off the alleged girlfriend and quickly came back to the scene to help extricate the wife from the damaged vehicle where she was taken to the hospital.

The commander of the National Disaster Response Force, FRSC, in Cross Rivers state, Maikano Hassan confirmed that a car accident killed a middle-aged woman in Calabar on Sunday while she was following her husband and his girlfriend in a car.
