FG Establishes Power Generation Facilities in Six Federal Universities.

The Federal Government, through the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), has successfully established power plants in six federal universities. This initiative aims to ensure reliable electricity supply to essential sectors within society.

The agency has reported significant advancements in Nigeria’s electrification projects. This information was shared during a recent briefing by the Managing Director, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, to the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun.

The universities that have received these installations include the University of Abuja, University of Maiduguri, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Umudike, Federal University Gashua in Yobe, the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta, and the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, the meeting highlighted the transformative effects of the REA’s initiatives on communities throughout Nigeria.

During the briefing, Aliyu provided a detailed overview of the agency’s successful projects, illustrating how electrification is positively impacting rural and underserved areas.

The statement, signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Muhammad Manga, included photographic evidence showcasing the power plants established at these key institutions.

These installations mark a significant advancement in the agency’s mission to deliver dependable electricity to critical sectors of society.

In response to the REA’s presentation, Minister Wale Edun commended the agency for its impressive accomplishments. He emphasized the vital role that electrification plays in fostering Nigeria’s economic growth and development.

He also highlighted the necessity of increasing public awareness regarding the positive effects of the REA’s efforts.
