Chelsea have completed the signing of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino in a £15.6m deal.
The 19-year-old player has officially signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea, although he will continue to play on loan at his Argentine club for the upcoming 2024-25 season. He made his first appearance for Boca Juniors in June 2023 and has since played a total of 10 matches. In January 2024, Anselmino secured a contract extension, ensuring his commitment to the club until 2028.
This summer, Chelsea has invested approximately £115 million in new talent, focusing on strengthening their midfield with players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, and Omari Kellyman. Additionally, they have brought in goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defenders Tosin Adarabioyo and Caleb Wiley, winger Estevao Willian, and striker Marc Guiu.

On the financial side, Chelsea has managed to recoup around £90 million from player sales, which includes Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, and Omari Hutchinson. Furthermore, Conor Gallagher is anticipated to join Atletico Madrid for a fee of £33 million, adding to the club’s transfer budget.
As the transfer window progresses, Chelsea is actively seeking a new striker to bolster their attacking options. They have shown particular interest in Samu Omorodion, a forward from Atletico Madrid, as they look to enhance their squad.
The club’s preparations are ramping up as they approach the start of the 2024-25 Premier League season. Chelsea is set to kick off their campaign against the reigning champions, Manchester City, on August 18.
With these strategic signings and a focus on player development, Chelsea aims to strengthen their position in the league and compete effectively this season.
