After years of evading arrest, NDLEA nabs most wanted Lagos drug baron, Temo

After years of being untouchable, the leader of the Mushin, Lagos drug cartel, 57-year-old Alhaji Sulaiman Jimoh (also known as Temo), has been apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at his hideout, despite initial resistance from him and his gang.

Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA Headquarters in Abuja, confirmed the arrest on Wednesday. He stated that over the past two years, the NDLEA had seized large quantities of illegal drugs worth billions of naira that belonged to Temo. Despite his elusiveness, there were a few confrontations with him and his armed gangs in Mushin that resulted in gunfights.

Babafemi also mentioned some recent drug seizures linked to Temo, including a significant amount of cannabis sativa smuggled from Ghana, intercepted in Lagos on various occasions.

During the last two encounters, Temo’s men engaged in gunfights with NDLEA operatives. However, through persistence and the use of modern tools and intelligence, the agency successfully tracked and apprehended him at Igbarere street, Mushin. Temo attempted to escape in a Mercedes Benz SUV but was surrounded by a reinforcement of about 50 operatives.
